5 Ways to Improve Your Perimeter Protection

An integrated security system that includes a high security fence, video surveillance, and access controls is one of the best ways to improve perimeter protection!

You’ve invested a lot of money, time, and energy into the appearance of your property. There are also likely many valuable items that you want to protect. To keep them secure, you want to enhance the security and protection of your property. Here are five ways to improve your perimeter protection.

High Security Fencing

One of the most effective ways to improve your perimeter protection is with high security fencing. That’s a broad way of describing fencing that helps enhance the privacy and protection of your property. It can come in many forms, including anti-climb fencing, fencing above a certain height, and fencing that features barbed wire and other similar accessories. Installing a high security fence protects your perimeter by defining it and acting as a visual deterrent to would-be trespassers.

Video Surveillance

You and your security guards can’t be everywhere at the same time. That’s why the addition of video surveillance helps increase protection around the perimeter of your property. You can affix the cameras to your fencing or the exterior of your building or home. For an added warning, you can also consider posting signs to alert people that they are on video.

Enhance Durability

Regardless of what security measures you choose to install on your property, they must be durable enough to withstand the conditions of the environment. They should be water and rainproof, and able to stand up to high winds and UV exposure.

Limit Access

Limit access to your property. Use a fence that features a closed gate to block cars and foot traffic after a certain hour or use landscaping in a way that naturally directs people around your property. With less access to your property, there will be less opportunity for people to vandalize, damage, or steal. Without opportunity and access, there will be less attempts.

Install Motion Sensors

Motion sensors will not only alert you when someone is approaching your property, but they will often deter people who have ill intent. There are light sensors as well as sounds that are activated once people or cars cross a certain threshold. You’ll know immediately when someone or something is near.
